Diggers' Hotline Introduces DIRT reporting!!
10/17/2008
DIRT, Damage Information Reporting Tool, is now available for all Stakeholders involved in the underground utility infrastructure; including excavators, utility owners, property owners and the One Call.
This tool allows for the collection of quality and relevant information regarding damage incidents that occur in Nebraska. In collecting this information, data is recorded and analyzed on both a statewide and National level to allow for the identification of trends and the reduction of damages.
Upon completing the simple step of registering with DIRT, you will have the ability to report all damage incidents in an easy to use format that collects damage data ranging from One Call adherence to locating accuracy and even excavator downtime.
Submission to the DIRT reporting tool does not replace Nebraska State Statute 76-2326, requiring all excavators to immediately notify Digger’s Hotline if any underground facility is damaged, dislocated or disturbed before or during excavation. A One Call Damage Ticket is still required for all damages. Information submitted to DIRT expands the data collected from damage incidents not historically recorded on a One Call Damage Ticket.
A link to this reporting tool has been placed on the
Diggers' Hotline homepage. If you have any questions regarding DIRT Damage reporting, please contact Digger’s Hotline Director, Susan Lynch at 402-334-3424.
