Carl has demonstrated so many examples of dedication, proprietorship and customer education over the last 14 years it's hard to pick out one in particular. However, a couple do stick out.

Carl has so many contacts in the Nebraska Legislative body and with the Governor's office that he was able to get all of the members recognized as "Admirals in The Great Navy of the State of Nebraska" by, then, Governor Mike Johanns during a proclamation. This helped educate the public, keep the Governor and Legislators aware of the law and its requirements, and recognize the Board for their unpaid volunteer hours. Not a lot of people get this recognition and it took Carl to make it happen.

Carl's positive and professional attitude has turned many a grumpy State Senator to ones that withdrew bills that could have weakened the law. For example, one bill proposed to exclude farmers and ranchers from being required to call for locates when replacing fence posts. Carl worked with Legislative Committee Chair and suddenly the bill never made it out of Committee.

Carl has also been a very positive force in recruiting replacement Board members with an emphasis on keeping the membership representative of all corners of the state.
